Packing is the part people are tempted to save money on, and it is the part that decides whether anything breaks. The rule we work to is simple: the people who pack a box are the people who will carry it — so nobody packs something they would not want to lift.
The material that comes on the vehicle
Double-wall cartons for heavy items and standard cartons for the rest. Bubble wrap for glass and ceramics. Stretch film for upholstery and mattresses. Corrugated sheet and corner guards for furniture edges. Tape, marker and rope. It arrives with the crew — you are not sent to buy anything the night before.
Fragile, awkward and valuable
Mirrors and glass table tops are corner-protected and travel upright between padding, never flat under weight. Paintings are wrapped face-in. Marble tops come off their bases and move flat and supported. Anything genuinely valuable — jewellery, documents, hard drives — we ask you to keep with you, and we say so plainly rather than accept a responsibility we cannot honour.
Dismantling and rebuilding
Beds, dining tables, wardrobes and study units come apart properly, with their fittings bagged and taped to the frame they belong to. They are rebuilt at the other end. A bed frame that arrives with its bolts in somebody else's carton is not a moved bed.
Unpacking, if you want it
Unpacking and basic reassembly is available and quoted as an extra. Plenty of people take the packing and skip the unpacking, and that is a perfectly sensible way to spend less — just tell us at quoting stage so the crew hours are planned for it.
What you get in writing, before loading day. Every rate is split into four lines — vehicle and distance, loading and unloading, packing material, and extras. Nothing is hidden inside a single round number, so if a figure changes you can see which one changed.
