Moving a house is not one job. It is packing, carrying, loading, driving, unloading and putting things back where they belong — and most of what goes wrong goes wrong between those steps, when the job changes hands. We do not hand it over. The crew that wraps your wardrobe in Islamabad is the crew that carries it up the stairs at the other end.
What a full house shift actually covers
A house shift covers the furniture you can see and a great deal you have stopped noticing: the kitchen, the wardrobes, the store room, the curtains and their rods, the geyser, the air conditioners and whatever has been living on top of the almirah since you moved in. We survey all of it before quoting, because a rate based on "a 2-bed house" is a guess, and guesses turn into arguments on loading day.
Packing that matches what is inside the box
Crockery, glass and mirrors are wrapped individually and boxed with dividers. Mattresses and sofas get stretch film. Wooden furniture gets corrugated sheet and corner guards before it goes anywhere near a tailgate. An LED travels upright in its own carton, never flat, because a panel laid down under weight is the single most common write-off in this trade. Clothes move on hangers where the vehicle allows, since refolding a wardrobe is your evening, not ours.
Inside the city, or all the way across the country
A move inside Islamabad or Rawalpindi is usually one vehicle and one working day — a 2-bed house in G-11 to Bahria is loaded by noon and set down by evening. A move to Lahore is a 375 km run down the motorway. Multan is 500 km through Pindi Bhattian and Khanewal. Karachi is 1,400 km and takes two days with a night halt, and the same loaders travel with the vehicle the whole way.
Stairs, lifts and the things nobody asks about
Tell us the floor and whether the lift works, because that one fact changes the crew size more than the size of the house does. A third floor with no lift is a different job from a third floor with one. Air-conditioner removal and refitting is a separate trade and is quoted as its own line. So is a crane when a sofa will not come down a narrow staircase, and so are storage days when the new place is not ready.
