Rawalpindi is fifteen kilometres from our office and about a world away in how it moves. The old city has lanes a Mazda will not enter, Saddar has traffic that decides your loading window for you, and Bahria and DHA on this side behave like their Islamabad counterparts.
The old city needs a smaller vehicle
Raja Bazaar, Bhabra Bazaar and the lanes around them are not truck country. We use a Suzuki pickup and shuttle, or we park at the nearest point a Shehzore can reach and carry from there. Either way it is planned before the day, not discovered on it. A mover who promises a 16-foot vehicle into the old city has not been there.
Cantonment and Chaklala
Cantonment areas run on their own rules — entry timings, gate checks and occasional restrictions on commercial vehicles. Chaklala Scheme 3, Askari colonies and the areas around the airbase all need the paperwork sorted in advance. Family postings are a large part of what we move here, and those come with dates that cannot slip.
Twin-city moves are half-day jobs
Rawalpindi to Islamabad, or the reverse, is the most common job on our books. Fifteen to twenty kilometres, one vehicle, usually finished well inside a day. Because the run is short, a second trip is cheap — so we will tell you honestly when two smaller loads beat cramming everything into one.
